Yahoo, Tim Floyd, Louis Johnson

The preeminent journalists of our time are on it.

Louis Johnson, a cocaine dealer and disgruntled former-member of O.J. Mayo’s handler posse, has sworn testimony that states he saw an envelope of Benjamins in Rodney Guillory’s possession that Louis claims that Rodney said he got from Tim Floyd.

Thank you Yahoo Sports. We are all forever indebted to your excellence for bringing this pressing matter to our attention. We can’t wait to buy Louis Johnson’s book to learn everything about this alleged $1000 exchange.

  1. What’s the deal with Yahoo Sports coming after USC? First the Bush thing and now this. Anyone else think they are gunning for the Trojans? Disgruntled LSU fans maybe?

  2. in regard to “Johnson was not present for the actual exchange” Don’t you think it is irresponsible of yahoo to call it an “ACTUAL” exchange. Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to use ALLEGED exchange since there is no proof that this ACTUALLY happened…I hate yahoo

  3. PC has returned USC to the top of the Pac 10 and a National Championship contender every year. However, just like what happened to Washington in the 90’s, you cannot stay on top for too long before they start coming after you. If teams cannot beat you on the field, they try to beat you off the field.

These allegations by people of questionable character should not worry USC, but when the NCAA starts looking at you under the microscope, they will find something.

In Washington’s case, one player accepted a loan from a non-booster with zero ties to the football program (a businessman from Idaho or Montana). This was considered a major violation and the player was immediately suspended from the team. However, when the NCAA investigated, they found 2 more secondary violations and slapped the dreaded “lack of institutional control” label on the Athletic Department.

As a result, the NCAA took some scholarships away for 2 years as a penalty but that did not satisfy the Pac 10. The PAC 10 AD’s piled on with a much stiffer penalty. Non-eligible for bowls for 2 years and additional scholarships were taken away. Don James resigned out of protest and the rest is history.

So, USC should be more worried about Cal, Oregon, UCLA, OSU and the rest of the Pac 10 taking this opportunity to crush USC. If they can’t beat you on the field, they will try to beat you off the field.
