Matt Crossman from the Sporting News spoke with Taj Gibson about the Tim Floyd’s resignation. Crossman asked Gibson:
“What was his mood when he was talking to you?”
Gibson’s response:
He was at ease. So much stress with this whole O.J. situation. All he wants to do is coach basketball. He told me last night he doesn’t want to hurt any of the guys. He just feels heartbroken. He doesn’t understand why everybody is so on him. He didn’t do anything wrong. In that big city, it’s so tough. That whole time, he was stressing to me, “I didn’t do anything.” The speculation in the media that he’s doing something wrong. “Taj,” he told me, he promised me, on everything, “my coaching career, I would never pay for a player.” He was heartbroken. It was sad last night.
