The yellow areas are the places where there are more grocery store listings than bars. The red areas are the ones with more bars than grocery stores. We can deduce from this that either there is (A) a real lack of grocery stores (or more “supercenters” and fewer market locations) in the midwest, or (B) Illinois And Wisconsin Do Not Mess Around When It Comes To Drinkin’.
