If you are following spring ball, I am sure you have heard Dillon Baxter’s names the past few days. There is a ton of buzz surrounding this early enrollee from San Diego. Many are comparing him to former Heisman winners. Others are excited about using him in the wildcat.

Nick Canepa from the San Diego Union-Tribune wrote a feature on Baxter over the weekend. This is my favorite part:

All we have to go by now is Baxter’s Mission Bay stats, which were, as Kiffin might say, phenomenal. His senior year, as a quarterback, he rushed 261 times for 2,974 yards and 50 touchdowns. He threw for 1,685 yards and 26 touchdowns. He had 300 yards on returns and another touchdown. He caught one pass for 28 yards and a score.

So all he did was have a hand in 78 touchdowns in one season. California has had some great football players. None compiled those numbers.
