Matt Barkley goes 17 for 26 on 192 yards, throwing two touchdown passes, including a deep ball to Ronald Johnson. True freshman Robert Woods is already an impact player and instant special teams threat after a 97 yard kickoff return touchodwn. Allen Bradford runs 56 yards for a touchdown, showing why he should not be lost in the tailback shuffle. The weapons are there on the Trojan offense. When utilized properly, they are deadly, as seen with three spectacular touchdowns against Minnesota.

Since Hawaii, the defense has improved greatly. It was nice seeing many tackles for a loss of yardage against the Gophers including a pair of interceptions. Any Trojan fan will tell you there is still plenty of work to be done on defense, but with Monte Kiffin running things, you know the work will be done. Patience is key as this defense, primarily the secondary, is very young. There are stars in the making for the Trojan defense, in particular sophomore safety TJ McDonald, who sacked Minnesota quarterback Adam Weber for a loss of 8 yards. This is only the 3rd game of the season, and with time and experience, the Trojan “Tampa 2” defense will be in full force.

And one more thing: USC owns the Big Ten. Add Minnesota to that list!

  1. I see the team coalescing each game. This shows the SC heart and spirit of fighing on. Keep bringing out the best in each other and rise to the challenges with each game.

By the way, does anyone know the names of the songs used with the MN highlights?
