USC lost a heartbreaker to the Washington Huskies, 32-31. That does not mean there is no highlight video for this week, however.

Allen Bradford rushed for a career-high 223 yards. What more must he have done for the Trojans to win this game?

Props to #21 and a congratulatory Fight On!

  1. Is it time to start calling for Kiffin’s head?

How did this bozo get his job? Nepotism. It pains me to think that the clout we have could have brought any number of high profile coaches, but by the time Kiffin is done with us, we’ll be back to picking up the fourth best. Fourth best was plenty good when it was Pete Carroll, but that was obviously insanely lucky.

    The accusations:
    1. The play-calling is atrocious.
    2. The defense is atrocious.
    3. The players are all still top-notch.

On this last score, it’s obviously a huge problem that the coaches still cannot evaluate talent. On the basis of his past performances Allen Bradford deserved to be the starter from the get-go. He has amply proven that. Similarly, it’s hard to escape the idea that Kiffin has simply recreated Carroll’s absurd love-affair with Barkley that is misplaced. It still kills me that Carroll actually quoted outliers to support Barkley as a starter since that book clearly states that success depends on practice time and effort, neither of which Barkley had as a freshman.

So, what gives? We’re back to being a mediocre team. Another five loss season? If we have lost to Washington, then Stanford, Oregon, Arizona, and UCLA also all look likely. Ugggghhhhh!!!

Worse, what is going to happen once the scholarships get taken away.

  2. Let me add that I really don’t think that this wide receiver by committee thing is a very good idea either. Given how stacked we are at that position, why is that we have one deep ball on the season?

Are the receivers not getting open? The offensive lineman not buying enough time? Is Barkley afraid to throw it deep?

  3. Talent on Defensive, namely the LB’s and the DE’s. is very sub par.

    Barkley is overrated.

As a die hard fan and alum it pain means to say, I don’t think we win 6 games, and we are fortunate to have played the cream puffs we did.

  4. This is insane!!! they can’t even make a field goal!!!!
their defense is terrible. accept for S.Wright

  5. Yep, for sure Barkley is overrated, and the decision to bench Mustain will, I am sure, one day seem puzzling once he finally gets his chance to shine in the NFL.

Barkley has gone from a kid who was so busy “having fun” that he forgot to worry about how serious it is avoid throwing interceptions, to a worry-wort who always checks down the deep-ball, instead finessing his stats one short passes that even I could throw. Or perhaps there is no one to catch the long throw?
