Matt Barkley, Arizona cornerback Shaquille Richardson and USC place kicker Joe Houston are the Pac-10 Players of the Week.
Barkley was 25 of 37 for 352 yards with five touchdowns (a school record) and no interceptions in a 48-14 beat down of Cal. All five of his TD passes came in the first half. Barkley currently holds the 8th best QB ranking in the nation (167.3) and has thrown the second most TD passes in college football with 20. Hawaii QB Bryant Moniz has thrown 21.
Joe Houston was the Special teams player of the week. This was a pleasant surprise and hopefully a confidence boost for a kicker that has struggled all year with field goals over 40 yards. On Saturday Houston knocked in a pair of 27-yard fields goals and made all six of his PATs. He also had a 26-yard pooch punt that buried CAL at the 8-yard line. For the year Houston is 28 for 28 on PATs (great) and 4-8 on field goals (hopefully improving).
