Mitch Mustain Highlights 2010

Mitch Mustain has signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL.

A transfer from Arkansas, he spent his career as a backup to Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley, playing sparingly.

With the NFL lockout still in effect, a career in the Canadian Football League doesn’t sound so bad.

In case you missed or forgot when he played this season, check out the highlights brought to you by T-Wire.

  1. I was sure that he got passed over in the most unfair way possible until he had that run-in with Johnny Law. Now I am not so sure.

Suffice it to say, that I will be really, really surprised if Barkley amounts to much in NFL. In fact, I still put Mustain’s odds at about even with Barkley’s toward lasting successful career as an NFL hurler.

Some of the more frustrating aspects of being an SC fan is sitting by while some of the better talent is passed over. I am still scratching my head at what doesn’t look great about 7 yards per carry when your next best rusher is 2 yards per carry less. There is know universe that I know of where that figure does not possess overwhelming statistical significance.

I really would like to understand the problem better. I think that you guys might next time make a video of the low moments so we can try to piece together what the coaching staff may have been thinking when they gave a freshman Barkley the starting spot over the seasoned veteran in Mustain. His undefeated records as a freshman is similarly hard to argue with.
