Reggie Bush is a busy dude. After single handedly stripping USC of their BCS National Championship, two potential bowl appearances, a Pac-12 Championship game, 30 scholarships and a ton of bad press he has still managed to have an exciting offseason.
The Bush offseason started out on a sour note. He may have lost his starting RB spot after the Saints drafted Heisman trophy winning RB Mark Ingram. Reggie had a strong reaction to the pick tweeting, “It’s been fun New Orleans,” just after the Saint selected Ingram.
Cry me a river Reggie (more or river crying later). Reggie felt like he needed to find a new team even though the Saints have indicated this offseason they would like to bring Bush back.
Bush also put his foot in his mouth a second, third and fourth time on twitter when he wrote that he was fan of the current NFL lock out,
“Everybody complaining about the lockout! Shoot I’m making the most of it! Vacation, rest, relaxing, appearances here and there! I’m good!”
“Right about now we would be slaving in 100 degree heat, practicing twice a day, while putting our bodies at risk for nothing.”
These tweets caused some strong reactions but Reggie assured everyone that all was good by writing,
“FYI last tweet was a joke! Relax people damn it’s called sense of humor! Cry me a river why don’t you…”
Bush kept it classy after ESPN First Take host Skip Bayless criticized Reggie for all his tweets. Bush took the mature route and challenged the 59 year old Bayless via twitter to,
“1 on 1 full gear and full contact drills. Plus a full conditioning drill and weight lifting!”
Bush went on to write that,
“… If I win he (Bayless) wears a 25 jersey and a dress plus makeup on his show, he wins he gets a full game check! I bet he won’t accept my challenge!!!”
Hey now Reggie! A dress and makeup, that’s just silly. But it could be the next great movie in the Tyler Perry franchise, Medea goes to NFL training camp. Bayless did not end up accepting the challenge.
Bush has chilled out on twitter lately. He now plans on conquering another form of media, reality television. Reggie is set to star in a show called SAME NAME. The show will air on CBS in July and is a fish-out-of-water comedy about super famous people like David Hasselhoff and Reggie Bush that go to small towns to meet people also named David Hasselhoff and Reggie Bush.
Guess what happens next? They switch lives for one week! The tag line, “They may have the same names, but their lives couldn’t be more different.” One studio executive describe it as a mix of Freaky Friday, meets the Shaggy D.A., meets Wife Swap, meets Vice Versa, meets Like Father Like Son, meets a steaming hot wet bag of garbage. What a fresh concept, it sounds amazing. Set your tivos.
Most notably this offseason has allowed Reggie an opportunity to find love. The internet is buzzing trying to figure out who Reggie is dating. He is rumored to be dating Claudia Sampedro and Melissa Molinaro. So who do you think is better for Reggie, Claudia or Melissa? Maybe Reggie to star in another reality show with the Hoff to pick his new bride.
The only thing missing from Reggie’s offseason is an apology to all the USC fans, the current players penalized for Reggie’s selfishness and the University that has had to spend countless hours trying to clean up the mess Bush left behind. But it must be hard to find some free time when you are as busy of a guy as Reggie Bush.
