Thank god this high school QB prospect, Jimmy Clausen, chose Notre Dame. And good riddance to whoever follows him out there.
Besides this guys ridiculous spike job, there are two other reasons we are ecstatic to see him headed east.
Jimmy didn’t want to have to compete with Mark Sanchez. The Trojans certainly don’t want to waste valuable scholarships on players that are unsure of themselves.
He apparently heeded the advice of Steve Clarkson. The Air 7 football academy owner is apparently miffed at Pete Carroll over who would run Matt Leinart’s workout during Pro Day.
In any case, this guy and Charlie Weis will make for a nice couple on the Irish sidelines.

Jimmy Clausen = JC = Jesus Christ? Eh, I think not. I didn’t even know much about the guy, but at last night’s PSU game, the announcers were so nauseating I had to check him out. What a clown. Blackledge and the other dude so obviously wanted to blow him I nearly puked. Held back two years and a personal trainer since 7th grade? He’ll be a bomb, and he and the world’s fattest genious guarantee a 4 win season for ND. I can imagine the LB’s and DL’s from the mean streets just salivating to concuss him. and, if I was his OL, I wouldn’t block for the punk.

How do you go from a div 3 private school to QB1 at ND? Did anyone see the HS state Championship game? Little Cardnal Newman from Nor Cal shut him down and the opposing QB shined with a hurt leg to boot. Good luck where ever you end up…my guess…he fades out of the picture by the end of the season. One more thing…Does anyone remember Todd Marinovich? sorry USC fans…but I have to say it. This Clausen kid is headed down the same path. Robo QB groomed by Dad and private coaches from birth to be a QB. No pressure there… Living up to the hype will be a big challenge. I don’t like his attitude and cocky behavior…of that of his parents…but if the kid makes it to the pros like they expect and has a great career….I will show up to his Hall of Fame induction and cheer louder than anyone…and eat my words. Until then… he is an over rated punk. Ok, on to other more important things in my life…just had to comment.
Good point about Marinovich. I have to admit I was getting a little bit of a chuckle out of Clausen’s demise yesterday. Still, he is only a freshman and things can only get better for him in subsequent years. I almost felt sorry for him because he is a “kid” — but then he really isn’t a kid. My sister is the same age as he is and she’s a junior in college now! I suspect that Weis lured him to ND by promising him he wouldn’t have to wait his turn like the QBs at SC do. Well, he got his wish. I hope he enjoys the baptism.

His O-line already doesn’t block for him. Clausen hasnt proved anything yet but give him until atleast next year when he should have a fair shot, he has no help. And at USC, Neither Sanchez or Booty is the best qb on that team, theres a guy sitting out a year for transfer named Mitch Mustain that will be the starter when he is eligible to play, he is by far the most talented quarterback they have.

I went to high school with him and am a born and raised Notre Dame fan. He’s overrated. I wish he’d gone to USC.
First of all though Jimmy Clausen may have had a rocky freshman year, he is an outstanding quarterback with all the potential in the world. Secondly, he is smart and when he comes back next season he will be “the kid with the golden arm” that we all saw in the Hawaii Bowl. Everyone said it was a myth that he could continue his phenomenal high school career in to college but from what we saw previously in the earlier portion of the season and on Christmas eve he is an amazing athlete and can rock the field better than you all thought. He is talented, smart, attractive and what it seems to be a very genuine guy. So stop dogging on him and let him be the amazing and talented football player he really is. Oh and one more thing stop hating on him and being jealous that he didn’t go to USC. He is at a better college where he belongs and would not sit at a computer and diss any of your team members as you have done to him by calling him a dork and that he and Charlie Weis will not make on the side lines and whom ever said that is very rude . And this ones for Jimmy- go out on that field next season and kick butt and tons of luck from one of your biggest fans Caitlyn S. and have a happy new year and congrats on your bowl win you showed them all 🙂

These players at Notre Dame are good smart and intelligent kids who have passion and drive to do well and be successful. So do not hate on them because you were not lucky enough to get such good and special people to come to your school. Obviously Notre Dame could offer them more than just a few lousy minuets in the lime light. So show a little more class next time you want to make a derogatory comment about those kids.
